This smoothie can be a meal replacement because it is nutritionally balanced: it contains protein from hemp hearts; fiber & vitamins from fruit, avocado and veggies; good omega 3 fatty acids from avocado and natural sugars from fruits and coconut water. The coconut water also provides extra vitamins, minerals & enzymes. The green vegetables make this an alkalizing food.
Makes 1 large serving or 2 smaller servings
1 apple, cored and cut into chunks
4 large strawberries, tops removed and quartered
½ avocado, cut into chunks
1 – 2 celery stalks, cut into chunks
1/8 long English cucumber, cut into chunks
1 large kale leaf (no stem) cut into chunks
3 Tbsp Hemp Hearts
1 ½ – 2 cups coconut water
Place all ingredients in a high speed blender, food processor or VitaMix®.
Process until smooth.
