Mild Apple Banana Green Smoothie

Light Green Smoothie

This mild flavored smoothie is packed with nutrition! It has a balance of protein (from the hemp hearts), fiber and vitamins (from the fruit, avocado, and veggies), omega 3 fatty acids (from the avocado) and natural sugars (from fruits and coconut water).  The coconut water also provides extra vitamins, minerals and enzymes.

Makes 1 large serving or 2 smaller servings

 

Ingredients:

1 apple, cored and cut into chunks

½ banana – cut into chunks

½ avocado, cut into chunks

1 celery stalk, cut into chunks

1/8 long English cucumber, cut into chunks

½ lemon, peeled, cut into chunks and seeds removed

handful of salad greens (or leaf lettuce, not iceberg), broken or coarsely chopped

handful of cilantro, coarsely chopped

3 Tbsp Hemp Hearts

2 cups coconut water

 

Place all ingredients in a high speed blender, food processor or VitaMix®.

Process until smooth.
