Mild & Creamy Mango Nut Smoothie

This smoothie is very healthy – it contains great omega 3 fatty acids from the walnuts and anti-oxidants from the kale to keep the immune system healthy! It can be a meal replacement, as it is balanced with healthy fats, protein (from the nuts and hemp hearts) and fiber (from the fruits and veggies).  Enjoy!

Yields: 2 servings

 

Ingredients: 

1 mango, flesh only – cut into 1 inch chunks (fresh or frozen unsweetened)

1/2 banana

1/8 long english cucumber, skin on – cut into 1 inch chunks

2 stalks celery, cut into 1 inch chunks

1 stalk of kale, leaf only – torn into 1 inch pieces OR mixed green leaf lettuce OR spinach

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 cup filtered tap water OR coconut water

1/2 cup raw walnuts

1 to 2 Tbsp hemp hearts

 

Directions: 

Place ingredients into blender or food processor in order listed (softest ingredients are at the bottom so the mixture purees more easily).  Blend until smooth.  Add more water if it is too thick.

Helpful note: for easier blending – walnuts and hemp hearts can be added after the other ingredients are partially pureed.
