This is a wonderfully creamy and delicious smoothie, full of antioxidants, nutrients and protein. Raw chocolate (cacao) is amazingly healthy. This smoothie is great for breakfast or before your morning workout. Yum – chocolate for breakfast! Enjoy!
Yield: 2 servings
1 apple, chopped
½ banana, broken into pieces
1 handful dark leafy greens
2 cups water kefir (or filtered water or coconut water)
1 scoop of pumpkin protein powder (21 g)
2 Tbsp chia seeds
2 heaping Tbsp raw cacao powder (raw chocolate)
½ cup unsweetened almond milk
- Blend all ingredients, except the almond milk, in a blender or high speed blender until smooth.
- Add the almond milk and blend briefly again. The chia seeds will thicken this smoothie as they absorb some of the liquid, so you might want to add more water or almond milk.
